Enjoying  America's Legend
Steel Town Corvettes is many things to many people - autocrossing, racing, shows, cruises, trips, etc.

Steel Town Corvettes Club, STCC, STC,

Many things have changed over the years since Steel Town Corvettes was founded in 1972.  Original members of the club were primarily interested in the performance aspect of Corvettes, i.e. road racing, autocrossing, and rallies.  Our founding members include Corvette race car driver, builder and team sponsor Don Yenko, along with champion drivers Donna Mae Mimms, sports car racing's "Pink Lady" and legend Ed Lowther.  As the membership expanded a more diversified club emerged.  Membership now averages 200+ and the Club has members from all over Western Pennsylvania, Northern West Virginia, Eastern Ohio and from as far away as Florida.  Today Steel Town Corvettes is many things to many people.

For those members interested in performance, Steel Town Corvettes sponsors several "Yenko" events throughout the year.  These consist of fun rallies, day at the drags, and autocrossing.  Many of the members enjoy cruising during the warm weather months.  Monthly cruises begin at a predetermined location and a club member selects dinner destination and leads the cruise.  Other events include an annual club picnic, car shows, holiday parades, dances, social parities, guest speakers at monthly meetings, trips to Carlisle, weekend trips to interesting locations, and many other special events.  At Steel Town Corvettes' holiday banquet in December the Don Yenko award is presented to the club member that has acquired the most "Points" for participation in in Club performance events.  Additional awards are given to members for their achievements and participation in Club events throughout the year.

July is the month of the annual Steel Town Corvettes' car show hosted by our corporate sponsor, the nations oldest Chevrolet dealer, Colussy Chevrolet.  The judged show in its 23rd year is second to none and is open to all Chevrolets, including trucks.  Photo plaques are given to class winners (1st, 2nd, & 3rd place).  A portion of the proceeds is donated to charities suggested by club members.

When the meetings move indoors in October, Steel Town Corvettes arranges for guest speakers.  Past speakers have included John Connolly (Yenko historian), Ron McClure and Dick Jevon from Alcoa Aluminum Manufacturing and Chip Ganassi of CART and NASCAR racing fame.  These special meetings are also open to other car club members.

Members are kept well informed of upcoming events and other pertinent information through the club's monthly newsletter, web page and email notices.

Steel Town Corvette Club is many things to many people.  There is something for everyone, so come out and meet us at one of our events.  We're sure you'll enjoy it as much as we do.  When you see us on the road REMEMBER TO WAVE and in your heart DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!
